How it works
Most John Deere dealers can install your RemanSelect engine. The core
(old engine) is returned to Frontier for inspection, then returned to the
factory.
Engine Core Return
- RemanSelect Engines are shipped with a green "Core Return
Authorization" card. Customer completes this card and returns it with the
engine to Frontier. The Core Return Authorization tag stays with the engine
core.
- Cores must be drained of all fluids. Any caps or plugs from new
engine must be transferred to core engine. Must also be returned on metal stand
new engine shipped on.
- Always ensure that all parts that are included in the remanufactured
engine configuration are included with the core being returned. If any parts
are missing and/or damaged from the core, a deduction takes place for the
missing parts to allow for replacement.
- When sending your core back to Frontier, in order to qualify for the
best available freight rates, the bill of lading should be completed as
follows: Containers, Used tractor parts or engines For salvage value only
Per NMFC# 120865, Freight Class 70
- Engine cores, which appear to have had salvageable parts removed and
replaced with non-salvageable parts, will receive reduced core credit.
- 100% core credit will be allowed when any of the following conditions
exist:
- There are no visible external cracks or breaks in the cylinder
block or head.
- The crankshaft is not broken or seized and rotates a full 360
degrees by hand with all bolts and rods and main caps torqued to John Deere
specifications.
- There are no missing and/or damaged parts, and the core is
returned in an "as removed" condition.
- The returned core must be the same model as the engine purchased
to be eligible for the 100% credit. As an example, if a 4045 is purchased a
4045 core must be returned.
- 50% core credit will be allowed when any of the following conditions
exist:
- The core has a cracked or broken cylinder block.
- The core has a cracked or broken cylinder head.
- There is either a broken or seized crankshaft.
- The engine is returned in a disassembled condition (i.e., not
returned in an "as removed" condition).
- 25% core credit will be allowed when any of the following conditions
exist:
- The engine core is not the same model as purchased. An example
would be the return of a 4276 from the purchase of a 4045.
- Any two of the major components (cylinder block, cylinder head or
crankshaft) are cracked, broken or damaged.
- 0% core credit will be allowed when any of the following conditions
exist:
- All three major components (cylinder block, cylinder head or
crankshaft) are cracked, broken or damaged.
After the factory inspects your core, they issue a credit to Frontier.
Frontier will then issue a credit to the customer for the same amount as the
factory credit.
