Standard engine equipment


All Mitsubishi engines are designed and built to deliver performance, dependability and fuel efficiency. The combustion chamber design, the fuel injection technology, the turbocharger and the advanced cooling system have been perfectly balanced to provide highly reliable operation and optimum fuel efficiency across the entire power curve.

Maintenance is simplified as each cylinder has its own cylinder head. The engine has large inspection covers on the crankcase and oil pan*. None of the auxiliary components (fuel injection pump, governor, water pump, turbocharger) requires separate lubrication.

At Mitsubishi's ISO certified manufacturing facilities, every Mitsubishi engine is built to meet the highest quality standards, as recognized by Lloyd's Registry of Shipping and other major international marine classification societies. Mitsubishi marine engines comply with EPA and IMO emissions standards.

Fresh water pump, thermostats with bypass (sea or fresh water must be specified when ordering)

24 Volt electric system isolated ground
Starter motor(s), battery charging alternator, energize-to-stop (ETS) stop solenoid

Air intake and exhaust system
Mitsubishi turbocharger with vertical exhaust outlet, air inlet silencer with pre-cleaner, inlet air aftercooler(s) or intercooler(s), inlet manifold(s), fresh water cooled exhaust manifold¤

* The S6B3 does not have an inspection cover in the oil pan; the S6B3 has a mechanical governor
