ABOUT US
FROM THE BEGINNING
Founded in 1983 in Delta, British Columbia, Frontier Power Products began with a simple mission: build engine and power solutions tough enough for Western Canada’s extreme and unpredictable environments. Our founders, Larrie York and Terry Sumner, believed that reliability isn’t optional — it must be engineered into every component. From day one, we focused on designing purpose-built engines and generator systems capable of thriving where others fail — whether operating in sub-arctic cold, desert heat, high-altitude mountain ranges, or isolated off-grid locations. Customization, not compromise, became our standard.
That commitment quickly earned global recognition. Frontier-built systems have powered operations everywhere from Antarctica to the Andes, and from the deserts of North Africa to remote regions of Mexico — proof that rugged, intelligent engineering travels well. Today, we remain proudly rooted in Western Canada while supporting customers worldwide. Our technology has evolved, but our promise has not: reliability engineered for the real world.
